From the Dir. of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna
"Any successful trainer must have an intimate knowledge of his trainee. The rider, too, has to know his horse - with regard to his physical as well as his mental disposition. He should not only have a good knowledge of equine anatomy and have grasped the function of the individual muscles and joints, but he should also be a psychologist in order to be able to imagine the feelings and reactions of his four-legged partner."
Alois Podhajsky
Director of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna from 1939-1965
